Police: Fairfax Co. teacher helped student steal beer from gas station

WASHINGTON — A Fairfax County teacher who police say helped a student steal a case of beer from a Reston, Virginia, gas station was arrested on Monday and now faces alcohol, drug and larceny charges.

Fairfax County police said 30-year-old Fabiana Alicia Ciammaichella, who teaches Spanish at South Lakes High School, was caught on surveillance video shortly before 11 p.m. Monday distracting a cashier at an Exxon station on Baron Cameron Avenue as 18-year-old Adelmo Ernesto Arias Guillen entered the store and stole the beer. Guillen is a sophomore at South Lakes High School.

Fairfax County police said they tracked Ciammaichella to her home where they discovered the stolen beer and also a variety of illegal narcotics. Ciammaichella and Giullen were both arrested.

Police said Fairfax County Public Schools officials are aware of the incident and have suspended Ciammaichella.

A Prince George’s County teacher was also arrested on Monday. Doney Olivieri faces sexual assault and child solicitation charges involving one of his students.

Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
