‘The guns aren’t real,’ Md. city advises as film crew arrives

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — The City of Frederick is advising residents that actors will be using fake guns during a downtown filming project.

Spokeswoman Patti Mullins says in a statement that a crew from the Silver Spring-based production company Sirens Media is filming Monday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

She says the guns will be holstered, and there will be no simulated firing.

Sirens Media produces true-crime programming and episodes for several reality shows on the cable television channel Bravo.

Gunman sought in Md. shooting that wounded teen

WASHINGTON — Investigators are searching for a lone gunman who opened fire on the grounds of a Frederick, Maryland, church Monday evening, wounding a teenager. Four young friends were on the grounds of the Emmanuel Alliance Church on Ladd Lane, in Frederick, around 5 p.m. Monday when someone started shooting at them, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said.
