Woman dies in Wheaton car crash

WASHINGTON — A 30-year-old woman died after she was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Montgomery County over the weekend.

Around 6:15 p.m. Sunday, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata traveling southbound on Denley Road at Randolph Road collided with a 2002 Ford Explorer traveling westbound on Randolph Road. The crash happened at the intersection of Randolph and Denley roads in Wheaton, said Montgomery County police in a Monday news release.

Emergency crews transported the driver of the Hyundai — identified as 30-year-old Michelle Renee Sears, a District Heights resident — to an area hospital, where she later died.

The driver of the Ford, 25-year-old Pedro Garcia Huerta of Silver Spring, was not injured, according to police.

Police are investigating the crash, and have not yet released information about what led to the collision.
