WASHINGTON — Service was suspended for more than five hours on the Green Line between Branch Avenue and Southern Avenue Wednesday morning after a man was struck and killed by a train between the Suitland and Naylor Road Metro stations. Metro says that the man was hit at about 5:10 a.m. by an unoccupied train; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Metro spokesman Dan Stessel says it’s not clear why the person was on the tracks, since there are no pedestrian crossings in that area. The man hasn’t been identified yet. Service was restored shortly before 11 a.m.
