WASHINGTON — Redevelopment along Northeast D.C.’s District line is spreading, with another developer plotting luxury townhomes in the area.

Reston, Virginia-based Comstock Homes of Washington will build a new townhome project in Northeast D.C.’s Michigan Park neighborhood, north of the increasingly popular Brookland neighborhood and just east of the Fort Totten Metro station.

The development, called Totten Mews, will include 40 townhomes.

Comstock says pre-sales will begin this fall.

Comstock closed on the property this month after getting entitlement from the District government earlier this year.

“It’s rare to have an opportunity to build ‘new’ in this glorious section of Washington, D.C.,” said Dennis Kelleher, president of Comstock Homebuilding of Washington.

The three-story, three-bedroom townhomes will be up to 1,900 square feet and start in the low-$600,000s.

Comstock recently completed another new townhome project, The Hampshires, on the District Line North of Fort Totten.
