Steelers sign 3rd-round draft pick Archer

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Steelers have signed third-round draft pick Dri Archer, a wide receiver/running back out of Kent State.

Archer was selected 97th overall. He finished his college career with 99 receptions for 1,194 yards and rushed for 2,342 yards.

His 40 career touchdowns rank second in school history.

The 5-foot-8 Archer also was a standout special teams performer with 51 kickoff returns for 1,436 yards, including four touchdowns.

Terms of the deals were not announced Friday. The Steelers have signed eight of their nine draft selections.
