Pittsylvania man sentenced on moonshine charges

CHATHAM, Va. (AP) — A Pittsylvania County man convicted on moonshine charges will spend more than two years in prison.

Ronald Wayne Bray pleaded guilty in March to illegal sale of an alcoholic beverage, possessing or transporting untaxed alcohol and related charges.

The Danville Register & Bee (http://bit.ly/TNMIYG) reports that the 61-year-old Bray received a two-and-a-half year sentence Tuesday in Pittsylvania County Circuit Court.

The charges stemmed from an undercover investigation by the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Bray was ordered to pay more than $3,000 in restitution to the department as restitution for the investigation’s cost.
