Arrests made in DC Tesla vandalism case

Two people are under arrest, allegedly connected to several counts of vandalizing Tesla vehicles in the District.

Both suspects, one male and one female, turned themselves in at an Metropolitan Police Department station.

Justin Fisher and Emily Fisher were both charged with multiple accounts of defacing private property in northeast D.C. throughout March. Emily Fisher was charged with five counts, and Justin Fisher was charged for eight counts.

D.C. police are investigating these offenses as hate crimes due to “potentially being motivated by political affiliation hate or bias,” according to a press release.

Laurel teens get summer curfew after fights, fireworks tossed

D.C. is not the only city in the region that has expanded its youth curfew. After teens started fighting and shooting off fireworks at hot spots in Laurel, Maryland, the town is telling them to go home earlier. “A lot of fights, fights at our town center, fights out at McDonald's on Route 1, then fights carry over to the town center and one of our premier shopping areas,” Laurel Mayor Keith Sydnor said while describing the disruptions on July 5 during the town's Independence Day celebrations.
