56-year-old man killed when vehicle barrels into Laurel apartment

A 56-year-old man died after a vehicle crashed into his Laurel, Maryland, apartment Saturday morning, police say.

Fredy Tenas Silva was identified by Laurel police Sunday morning. He was killed after a vehicle crashed into his apartment building just before 2 a.m. in the 800 block of Kay Court, Laurel police said on Facebook.

Silva was found trapped underneath the vehicle with life-threatening injuries, and police said he died at the scene.

The driver behind the wheel of the vehicle was hospitalized with injuries and police said he is expected to survive.

The Prince George’s County Fire Department responded to the crash.

Police didn’t offer other details about the crash.
