Woodbridge man accused of kicking kitten to death

A Woodbridge, Virginia, man faces an animal cruelty charge for allegedly kicking a kitten to death.

Eighteen-year-old Frederick Grant Pierce was arrested Friday after investigators found a 3-month-old kitten dead inside of a home at the Stone Pointe apartment community.

The Prince William County Police Department said officers were called to the building earlier that day for a domestic dispute. Detectives believe the owner left her kitten, which was a Maine Coon and Siamese mix, in the apartment with Pierce.

She came back later and found the kitten unresponsive in the bedroom.

According to a police news release, detectives alleged Pierce had kicked the kitten in the head several times.

Pierce was taken into custody on one felony count of torturing or maiming a cat. He is scheduled for arraignment on June 13.
