Police: 1 killed in Prince George’s Co. shooting

Officers in Prince George’s County, Maryland, have started investigating the murder of a man in the Greater Landover area. The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Kent Village Drive. When police arrived at the scene, they found an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds outside the residential area. The man died at the scene. Prince George’s Co. Council could reconsider virtual voting stance after tempers flare over member’s upcoming maternity leave

Increasing pressure could lead five members of the Prince George’s County Council to reconsider their vote not to allow a colleague to vote on legislation in the weeks after she gives birth. Attendance at council and committee meetings must be in-person, as do all recorded votes. Last week, the full council met in what’s known as the Committee of the Whole to vote on the measure that would allow Council member Krystal Oriadha to vote virtually.
