A man arrested in connection with a shooting in Alexandria, Virginia, was mistakenly released from a Maryland jail on Friday.
Brian Wordell Morris Jr., 27, was taken into custody Friday by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and Alexandria police — but was mistakenly released from a jail in Prince George’s County later that day.
Alexandria police revealed the mistake in a news release Monday.
Police didn’t say where Morris was taken into custody.
Morris, a city resident, is accused of shooting a 22-year-old man on Jan. 15 in the 4600 block of Duke Street. The victim in that shooting was taken to the hospital but police said he’s expected to be recover.
