A man has been arrested after a double stabbing in Northwest D.C. Thursday night.

It happened on the 3300 block of Wisconsin Avenue Northwest near a supermarket at around 5:30 p.m.

According to the police report, two men engaged in a verbal argument. During the exchange, one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the other in the neck.

The second man fought back, pulling out his own knife and stabbing the other male in the abdomen.

Officers found both men conscious and breathing and took them to the hospital. The man who started the exchange was taken into custody, police said.

WTOP’s Alejandro Alvarez, who was on the scene, reported blood spattered on the pavement outside.
