4 wounded in shooting at car wash gathering in Manassas

Four men were wounded in a shooting at a large gathering in a car wash parking lot in Manassas, Virginia, late Sunday night, police say.

A large group had gathered in the parking lot of Sam’s Car Wash on Sudley Road in the Westgate Plaza Shopping Center when an argument broke out, according to police.

The altercation escalated and “multiple gunshots were fired before the gathering dispersed,” Prince William County police said in a news release Monday morning.

Officers responded to the shooting at 11:51 p.m. Sunday.

Two of the men were driven to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Police found another man with gunshot wounds in the area of Nimitz Court and Fairmount Avenue — about 1 and 1/2 miles away from the car wash.

A fourth man who had been shot was identified later as being at the location at the time of the shooting.

Three of the men were flown to an area trauma center while the fourth man was taken by ambulance.

Police said none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
