A section of Alexandria, Virginia, was temporarily under a ‘shelter in place’ order Sunday afternoon as Fairfax Co. police searched for a suspect and investigated a shooting. The suspect was not located, and police are still investigating the incident. For nearly two hours Sunday afternoon, the 3300 block of Lockheed Boulevard was closed between Fordson Road and Fairchild Drive as residents were asked to shelter in place while officers investigated. One man was wounded from the shooting and taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries, police said. Officials previously believed the suspect was hiding in an apartment complex adjacent to where the shooting took place, but searches of the area did not locate the individual. Area SWAT officers also joined the police response.
