Pedestrian killed in Prince George’s Co. hit-and-run

Prince George’s County Police say a man is dead after a hit-and-run in Suitland, Maryland. The crash happened Saturday right before midnight at the intersection of Silver Hill Road and Navy Day Drive.



The driver of an unidentified car hit the pedestrian. Police say that the pedestrian died at the scene. The driver did not remain at the crash. Police are still investigating the incident.

Northwestern HS boys soccer team DQ’d from Md. state playoffs

The boys' soccer team from Northwestern High School, in Prince George's County, Maryland, has been disqualified from competing in this year's state playoffs after county officials said the Wildcats used an ineligible player during the season. The school system's Office of Athletics received an anonymous email concerning a player on the Wildcats roster, spokesperson Meghan Gebreselassie told WTOP. An investigation determined that Northwestern fielded an ineligible player during the season and in its regional semifinal playoff match on Oct. 28.
