Woman struck in Alexandria hit-and-run

Fairfax County Police say a woman is in the hospital Monday morning after being hit by a car in Alexandria, Virginia.

It happened after 10 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Little River Turnpike and Oasis Drive.



The car struck the pedestrian, and the driver left the scene.

She was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

Police say they’re searching for a white or silver SUV with damage to its driver’s side.

The department is also investigating if Sunday night’s weather may have been a factor in the crash.

A Dumfries, Virginia, man was convicted Wednesday on charges that he caused the overdoses of six people in Fairfax County. One year ago, Michael Vaughn, 28, distributed cocaine laced with fentanyl at a party inside an apartment in the Skyline area of Fairfax County, according to court documents and evidence presented at trial.
