Man dies in 2-car BW Parkway crash in Laurel

A man is dead after a Tuesday night crash on southbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Laurel, Maryland.

It happened last night just before 10:30 p.m. in the area of Maryland Route 197.

U.S. Park Police said two cars were involved and one man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s identity has not yet been released.

The crash closed the southbound lanes for eight hours.

Man charged in series of apparently random shootings at cars traveling on Md. highways

An Anne Arundel County, Maryland, man was arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a series of shootings at drivers and passengers on highways over a span of a few hours, starting late Monday night. Kendrick Lamont Savoy, 44, was arrested Tuesday afternoon, less than 16 hours after the attacks began. Police said during a news conference Wednesday that Savoy appeared to be targeting cars at random on state Route 5 and the Capital Beltway.
