Child struck by vehicle in Northwest DC

D.C. police confirmed that a child was hit by a vehicle in Northwest on Tuesday.

Police said the incident happened in the 3400 block of N Street, NW. They say the child was struck by an unidentified vehicle and transported to a local hospital.



Police say that the child is conscious and breathing and that the driver remained at the scene following the accident.

Officers said that this case remains under active investigation.

Driver dead, his son critically injured, 5 others hurt after van crashes into Metrobus in SE DC

The driver of a utility van is dead and his son, who was riding with him, is critically injured after his vehicle collided with a Metrobus in Southeast D.C., early Sunday morning. At least five people on the bus were also injured. Metro spokesperson Sherri Ly said the van struck the bus at around 1:20 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Highview Place SE.
