Loudoun Co. sheriff’s office has located the shirtless man who fired gun

The shirtless man who shot a gun and ran off into the woods in Loudoun County, Virginia, has been located.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said the man fired a round outside Thursday night after a domestic argument in the area west of Sleeter Lake off Route 7. He was seen walking along Snickersville Turnpike just east of Foggy Bottom Road. Fairfax County police assisted in the ground and aerial search.

No one was injured during the shooting and the gun used was recovered before the man ran off. The sheriff’s office said Friday that the man was taken into custody and is facing charges of reckless handling of a firearm.

Loudoun County gas station will pay $6K to settle price-gouging claim

A gas station in Loudoun County, Virginia, will pay more than $6,500 in restitution to settle a price-gouging claim from last year. Attorney General Jason Miyares’ office said in a statement that West End Motors, in Lovettsville, was accused of raising prices in response to the state of emergency declared May 11, 2021, after a cyberattack led to the temporary shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline, which supplies gas to much of the East Coast.
