Police in Fairfax County, Virginia, have identified a person of interest who they say lived at the Burke home where two female victims were found dead on Friday. It is being treated as a double homicide by detectives.
Authorities said in a news release that Bradley Lister, 33, is currently unaccounted for.
Police said they believe he could know about what led up to the homicides. They also want to find him for welfare purposes, per the release.
A car that was normally at the home was missing from the driveway, but police said they have since recovered it and it is now being processed for evidence.
Lister is is a third resident from the home in 6100 block of Eagle Landing Road.
Police said that someone contacted them on Friday after they hadn’t heard from their mother and a few relatives for several days, and that they were getting concerned, resulting in the discovery of the two victims.
Police said they entered the home through an open window around 8:15 a.m. that morning and found the two women dead inside a bathroom.
Preliminarily, police said that there were no signs of forced entry into the home, and that the homicides are domestic-related and not a random act of violence.
Autopsies to confirm the identities of the women are underway by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to authorities. A police department spokesperson said it appeared that the bodies had been there for several days.
