Seven teens between the ages of 13 and 16 were arrested and charged following an alleged armed carjacking that led to a crash in Northeast D.C. Monday night.

Police said in a statement that just before 11:30 p.m., they received a call about an armed carjacking in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

When officers arrived near the 200 block of 14th Place Northeast, about a half-mile northeast of Lincoln Park, the teens tried to drive off, but crashed the vehicle and were taken into custody.

The teenagers, all boys, were charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.

The youngest of the group was also charged with leaving after colliding, fleeing from a law enforcement officer, reckless driving and not having a permit.
