2 dead after rollover crash in Prince George’s Co.

Two people are dead and two others hospitalized after an SUV overturned on the northbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Law enforcement responded to the crash around 1 a.m. Monday, and found the vehicle overturned off the highway’s northbound lanes near Beaver Dam Road, in Greenbelt.

Of the SUV’s four passengers, two were pronounced dead on the scene while two others were transported to a hospital for treatment.

One woman was reported to be in critical condition. A second woman was said to have been seriously injured, but is expected to recover.

U.S. Park Police and Maryland State Police medevac helicopters were called to the scene but did not transport anyone.

An investigation continues to determine what led to the crash.

The WTOP Traffic Center reports the northbound parkway reopened around 6 a.m. following an earlier closure between Md. Route 193/Greenbelt Road and Powder Mill Road. Drivers should plan for residual delays.

Pedestrian killed in collision along Indian Head Highway

Prince George's County police said that a woman was pronounced dead on the scene after a fatal collision on Indian Head Highway Sunday night. Officers said they responded to the accident at around 6:10 p.m. in the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway in Maryland.
