Elly Rowe talks with Catie Hicks co-owner of the Trailhouse, an outdoor apparel and gear store in downtown Frederick, Maryland. Catie’s background is also in media and she and Elly were coworkers and cubemates for years. Ultimately she left the corporate world to help transition into the family business and over the last year she’s experienced so much as a business owner and a new mom. Elly and Catie talk about priorities, balancing business with motherhood, how the pandemic has impacted the retail industry and all the incredible ways she’s not only pivoted during this time but also excelled, innovated and above all, stayed positive.
