Cherry blossom trees in springtime D.C. are almost as iconic as the city’s monuments.

Here is everything you should know about the Japanese cherry blossoms in D.C.

The cherry blossoms are expected to reach peak bloom between March 21 and March 24.

At least another week of traffic restrictions around Mall, Tidal Basin

While the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin in D.C. reached peak bloom last week, there is still enough of a bloom that might entice visitors to get just a little too close to one another. That's why the National Park Service -- with the help of D.C. police and U.S. Park Police -- is continuing road closures and bike and pedestrian restrictions in that area for at least another week.
