WASHINGTON — The Amber Alert issued out of Montgomery County for two children has been canceled.

Police say Dwight Reylando Perry, 35, turned himself in after an Amber Alert was issued when he took his two children — 9-year-old Kingston Perry and 18-month-old Karina Perry — Tuesday afternoon.

The girl was found at a day-care facility, and the boy was found with family members, said Montgomery County police spokesman Rick Goodale.

“Everybody is now accounted for,” said Goodale.

Perry reportedly fled the area after a domestic-related stabbing in the 700 block of West Side Drive in Gaithersburg around 1 p.m. Police said Perry stabbed his girlfriend, Karina’s biological mother, in the residence and then fled from the area with the two children.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives said they were concerned for the children’s welfare, which prompted the Amber Alert to be issued around 4:30 p.m. It was canceled just before 7 p.m.
