15-month-old in critical condition after near-drowning in Gaithersburg

WASHINGTON — A baby was found nearly drowned in a bathtub in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Saturday morning, according to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service’s spokesperson Pete Piringer. Officials got a call around 10:20 a.m. that the 15-month-old had accidentally fallen into the tub. Piringer tweeted that the incident occurred on Jubal Place in Gaithersburg. EMS performed CPR and transported the baby to a hospital. The baby is in critical condition and the near-drowning injuries may be life-threatening.
