DC police investigating body found in Potomac River

WASHINGTON — D.C. police are investigating a body found floating in the Potomac River in Georgetown. It happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday. A boater called the police about a body that was floating near Three Sisters Island and the Francis Scott Key Bridge, down river from Fletcher’s Boathouse.

A man was recovered from the water with a gash on his forehead and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are looking into the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing. Below is the location where it happened.
