WASHINGTON — The World Cup started June 14 and continued throughout the month with exciting and heartbreaking moments for soccer fans in Russia and beyond.

Now, in the round of 16, France, Uruguay, Russia, Croatia, Brazil and Belgium advance to the quarterfinals.

Sweden and England are also moving forward after the final round of 16 matches Tuesday, sending Switzerland and Colombia home.

The championship game is scheduled for the morning of July 15.
