Gross then hit the gas to flee the scene, causing the officer to be dragged by the vehicle before freeing himself, according to police.

The D.C. police officer was taken to the hospital Thursday night with severe but non-life threatening injuries after the assault in Northeast.

On Friday, police arrested Gross and charged the Northeast D.C. resident with aggravated assault while armed.
