WASHINGTON — Montgomery County firefighters responded to a crash in Silver Spring, Maryland, where a vehicle struck a building. It happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Beitur Rehman Mosque on Good Hope Road. Police say that the driver of the car, a 76-year-old man, was trying to park when the car fell into the lower level of an outside enclosure near the building. Firefighters removed the driver and the passenger — a 71-year-old woman — from the car. They were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman said. Police believe that the driver may not have realized in what gear the car was.
