NHL announces dates for Capitals-Penguins second-round series

WASHINGTON —  The NHL has released the full schedule for the Washington Capitals second-round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The times of select games later in the series are still to be determined, but the dates of those games are now known.

This marks the 11th time the Capitals will face the Penguins in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and the third time in as many years.

The Penguins eliminated the Capitals in Round 2 each of the past two seasons, en route to a Stanley Cup title.

This year’s series begins with Game 1 on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena. Game 1 can be heard on WFED 1500 AM. The entire series schedule is below.

Thursday, April 26, 7 p.m.: Penguins @ Capitals

Sunday, April 29, 3 p.m.: Penguins @ Capitals

Tuesday, May 1, 7:30 p.m.: Capitals @ Penguins

Thursday, May 3, 7 p.m.: Capitals @ Penguins

The Capitals and Penguins split four games during the regular season, with the Capitals earning a 3-1 win at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh in their most recent meeting, April 1.
