Road closures in DC for Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon start to lift

WASHINGTON — The 2018 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon rocked through the District Saturday. D.C. police have now lifted all road closures along the race’s route except for the festivities space near the D.C. Armory.

The last runner finished the race shortly after 1 p.m. Police started opening up roads on a rolling basis beginning around 10 a.m.

The event started at 7 a.m. Some streets were closed as early as 2 a.m.

In addition to the closures, parking restrictions were enforced along the entire marathon route — that meant both tickets and towing. Below is a map of the course. Click for PDF.

The event website also features an interactive map. D.C. police monitored metered traffic locations at intersections where officers allowed vehicles to cross when safe. Weekend road and rail: Holiday weekend sees less work, but I-66 stops continue

This holiday weekend will see most work zones suspended but some long-term projects, such as full stops planned overnight for Interstate 66, will continue. Metro’s summer shutdown on part of the Orange Line is in its last full weekend and the work at Reagan National Airport continues to have one track on the Yellow / Blue line closed through December.
