Rosslyn gets DC region’s latest Nando’s Peri-Peri

WASHINGTON — Rosslyn office workers and the growing number of people who live in the Virginia community are getting a parade of new dining options, the latest of which is Nando’s Peri-Peri.

The flame-grilled chicken chain opens Monday at 1800 North Lynn St. in the new Central Place complex.

It is the 41st Nando’s location in the U.S., all of which are in D.C., Maryland and Virginia as well as the Chicago area.

Nando’s is hugely popular outside of the U.S., with more than 1,200 locations in 23 countries worldwide. It opened its very first U.S. location in D.C.’s Chinatown in 2008.

As is customary, Nando’s will hold a grand opening for its newest location in Rosslyn in April, with appearances from star players with one of Washington’s pro sports teams.

It has not said which team will be part of the Rosslyn store’s grand opening.

Grand opening proceeds will go to a D.C. area nonprofit for underserved youth.

Nando’s, founded in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1987, is the largest collector of South African contemporary art, with its collections displayed in its restaurants.

Nando’s joins more than 60, mostly fast-food and fast-casual restaurants in the immediate Rosslyn area, many of which have opened within the past few years.

Should you buy a house with cash?

High mortgage interest rates may have you exploring alternative ways of buying your home that don't require a loan. And while the competition for a new home may not be what it was in 2021, for the right home you may still need to work to get a leg up on the competition. If you have the means, an all-cash offer is a great way to fast-track a deal and avoid the additional costs that come with a mortgage. A seller is more likely to accept your offer, and the success of the deal isn't reliant on a lender's OK following an appraisal. You'll also own the home outright after the transaction with no mortgage to pay each month.
