WASHINGTON — Movie screenings, a parade, book talks and a visit to a president’s mansion are all free for Presidents Day.

Check out this year’s list of Presidents Day weekend freebies and deals:

At Mount Vernon, admission is free on Feb. 19.

AMC Theatres is offering free screenings Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. of the Academy Award-nominated film “Get Out” in Alexandria, Largo and Baltimore. Tickets are first-come, first served at each theater when the box office opens.

During Shop Maryland Energy Weekend Feb. 17-19, you can buy qualifying Energy Star products without paying state sales tax.

Lanny Davis appears Feb. 19 at Politics and Prose (5015 Connecticut Ave. NW) to discuss his book “The Unmaking of the President 2016: How FBI Director James Comey Cost Hillary Clinton the presidency.”

The annual George Washington Birthday Parade in Alexandria starts at 1 p.m. on Feb. 19.

The Nationals’ Racing Presidents will be part of the fun at the National Portrait Gallery’s Presidential Family Fun Day on Feb. 17.

White Sox chairman Reinsdorf officiates wedding of former Rookie of Year Kittle during game

CHICAGO (AP) — As the White Sox were slugging their way to a 22-1 victory over the Royals on Friday night, former player Ron Kittle was getting married in a ballpark suite with Chicago chairman Jerry Reinsdorf officiating. Kittle tied the knot with his girlfriend, Barbara, in Reinsdorf’s suite during Chicago’s 10-run third inning. The White Sox went on to score their most runs since a 22-13 victory at Boston on May 31, 1970. “He’s so superstitious he might marry somebody today in the bottom of the third,” Kittle, the 1983 AL Rookie of the Year, said Saturday about Reinsdorf. Harold Baines and Greg Walker, Kittle’s teammates on the 1983 White Sox squad, and their spouses also attended the quick ceremony.
