Crash closes MD-355 in Gaithersburg for Friday morning commute

WASHINGTON — A single-vehicle crash has closed Maryland Route 355 near Chestnut Street in Gaithersburg.

The crash happened after 12:30 a.m. on Friday when a car crashed into a pole, knocking down wires onto the road. One person was taken to the hospital. There is no word on the extent of their injuries.

Northbound lanes re-opened a little after 8:30 a.m., however southbound lanes remain closed. Police on the scene told WTOP’s John Domen that southbound lanes could be closed until around 1:30 p.m.
