Prince George’s Co. man arrested for child pornography

WASHINGTON — A Prince George’s County man is facing charges after police say he possessed and distributed child pornography.

On Wednesday morning, Maryland State Police arrested 23-year-old Austin Whyte at his Accokeek home. He is charged with three counts of distribution of child pornography and six counts of possession of child pornography.

Maryland State Police began investigating Whythe after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped them off to the distribution of child pornography from a specific internet address. The investigation led police to a Whythe’s residence.

Police got a search warrant and found that Whythe’s “electronic devices indicated it held multiple files of child pornography.”

He is awaiting an appearance before a court commissioner.
