Family displaced, 3 dogs die after Silver Spring fire

WASHINGTON — A family is displaced and three dogs have died following a Silver Spring, Maryland, house fire Tuesday.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to the house fire on 3064 Schubert Dr. at around 9:30 a.m. They were able to put out the fire and rescue the dogs from the home, but the dogs died from smoke inhalation.

The residents were not home when the fire started on the second floor.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
