Dates for National Zoo’s ZooLights display announced

ZooLights begins Nov. 24 and runs through Jan. 1, 2018, from 5 to 9 p.m. each night, except Dec. 24, 25 and 31, the zoo announced Thursday.

Now in its 11th year, ZooLights features displays made from thousands of lights, as well as nighttime opportunities to see some of the animals and a glow-in-the-dark play zone for kids.

Admission to ZooLights is free. Some attractions, such as a trackless train ride around Great Cats Circle and a 150-foot snowless tubing ride down Lion/Tiger Hill, have a $3 admission charge.

There will also be live music performances, cutting-edge art presented in a portable shipping container presented by CulturalDC and an outdoor market featuring work by local artisans (Dec. 15-17).
