WASHINGTON — A man who helped put on after-school programs in Montgomery County, Maryland, is charged with a sex offense involving a student, and police think there may be more victims.

Montgomery County police said during an interview with them, Roy Andres Simmons III, 41, of Gaithersburg, admitted to inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl.
Police got a warrant Tuesday for Simmons’ arrest, and on Thursday, he turned himself in.
He’s charged with one count of fourth-degree sex offense and one count of second-degree assault.
Investigators said the inappropriate contact happened in November 2016 when the girl was a student at Carderock Springs Elementary School in Potomac. That’s when she attended an after-school event sponsored by a company called “Kids Adventures,” which Simmons worked for, police said.
Police got a report about the incident in May and began investigating Simmons.
