Southwest Airlines customers unable to book flights for hours

WASHINGTON — Southwest Airlines customers were unable to book flights online Thursday morning.

Customers were greeted with an error message that read, “The website undergoing maintenance,” for about three hours.

Service was restored to the Southwest website at around 11:30 a.m.

A spokesman with the airline confirmed that Southwest experienced issues with their booking system.
