Merry Clinchmas! Nats take NL East

WASHINGTON — The Washington Nationals have taken the NL East, the first team in the majors to earn a playoff spot this season. They were helped along by the Braves’ 10-8 win over the Marlins Sunday evening after topping the Phillies 3-2. This is the Nats’ fourth division title, since the franchise moved from Montreal, the second division crown in a row and the fourth in the last six seasons.

Rogers sharp again for the Orioles in a 3-1 victory over Washington

BALTIMORE (AP) — Trevor Rogers pitched into the seventh inning and Blaze Alexander hit a two-run single to lift the Baltimore Orioles to a 3-1 victory over the Washington Nationals on Friday night. Washington has lost four straight and seven of nine.
