WASHINGTON — While Wednesday night’s historic $758.7 million jackpot drawing netted one lucky ticket holders who bought in Massachusetts a life-changing cache of cash, it also produced million-dollar winner in both Maryland and Virginia.

Maryland Lottery and Gaming says the $1 million ticket was sold at Potomac Shell on Darnestown Road in Gaithersburg. The lottery agency urges the winner to sign the back of the ticket and, of course, keep the precious paper safe before coming to the Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim the prize.

Separately, Virginia Lottery announced a $1 million ticket was sold at the Parkway Express at 8105 Loisdale Road in Lorton, Virginia.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 6, 7, 16, 23, 26. The bonus number was 4.

In addition to the Maryland and Virginia million-dollar winners, 32 other lottery players won $1 million in the drawing.

In Virginia, four tickets each won $200,000 and seven tickets, including one each in Haymarket, Sterling and Woodbridge, won $50,000.

In addition to the $1 million in Maryland, two tickets in the Free State won $50,000 apiece. Overall, there were 201,079 winning tickets sold in Maryland overall.

Prizes won in Maryland ranged from a paltry $4 to the new millionaire in Montgomery County.

Wednesday’s $758.7 million jackpot is the largest grand prize won by a single ticket in U.S. lottery history. And it’s the second-largest jackpot in history, topped only by the $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot in January of 2016. That prize was split between three winners in Florida, Tennessee and California.
