2 Calvert Co. dog parks closed to lessen disease spread

WASHINGTON — Calvert County, Maryland, dogs will have to find another place to hang out, as the county is temporarily closing two dog parks until further notice.

The closing is to lessen the spread of an outbreak of Mycoplasma cynos, according to Calvert County Mycoplasma bacteria are usually associated with canine infectious respiratory disease or kennel cough.

The two dog parks are Dunkirk Dog Park on Southern Maryland Blvd. in Dunkirk; and Gray’s Dog Park on Grays Road in Prince Frederick.

They are masterful hunters.
