Va. teen driver killed in crash, hit two trees

WASHINGTON — A Woodbridge teen was killed Thursday night after the car she was driving hit two trees near Lorton.

Fairfax County police don’t know what led to the 8 p.m. crash near the intersection of Gunston and Old Colchester roads. Police said that the car 19-year-old Lidya Brayant was driving left the road, hit a tree, spun around and hit another tree.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, however detectives are looking into whether speed might have played a role.

Anyone with information about the fatal crash is asked to contact Fairfax County police.
