Police seek killer of man in Langley Park woods

WASHINGTON — The Prince George’s County police are investigating the murder of a man believed to be homeless in Langley Park.

The body of 43-year-old Jose Regalado-Trujillo was discovered in woods near Riggs Road and Drexler Street about 7 p.m. Monday.

Officer Tyler Hunter said the police got a 911 call from someone who was concerned about the victim’s well-being. “He appeared to be living in the wooded area where he was found by our responding officers.”

Investigators want to hear from anyone who knew Regalado-Trujillo, or who is familiar with the homeless community in that area, as they search for suspects and work on a motive.

“The medical examiner did determine some sort of a sharp object was used,” Hunter said.

There’s a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to Regalado-Trujillo’s killer.
