Fairfax Co. firetruck catches fire in station

WASHINGTON — A Fairfax County firetruck caught fire in the fire station Sunday morning. The roof of a fire engine caught fire and triggered the fire alarm in the Edsall Road Station 26 on Carolina Place in Springfield, Virginia, around 12:45 a.m. The 11 firefighters on duty took action and extinguished the fire by 1:23 a.m., said Deputy Chief Daniel Gray. The flames went through the roof of the building, melted equipment and torched the truck. It took about 40 minutes to get the fire under control. The cause of fire is being investigated. There were no injuries.

Super Pet Expo offers its first in-person event in Virginia since pandemic began

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
