Black smoke at BWI is training exercise

WASHINGTON —If you see a heavy black smoke near BWI Marshall Airport, don’t worry. It’s a training exercise by the BWI Fire and Rescue Department, according to Jonathan Dean, a spokesman for the airport. WTOP listeners reported seeing the smoke around 6 a.m.

U.S. Naval Academy graduates who participated in the fifth in-person swearing event Wednesday in Annapolis, Maryland, got a surprise flyover visit. The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, flew over Bancroft Hall as the midshipmen sang the "Navy Blue and Gold."
