Prince William Parkway reopens after fatal crash

WASHINGTON — A fatal crash between a double tractor-trailer and a sedan shut down part of the Prince William Parkway in Manassas, Virginia, for the Tuesday morning commute.

The crash happened at the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Balls Ford Road around 3:30 a.m., according to Prince William County Police spokesman Nathan Probus.

The man driving the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, Probus said. The driver of the trailer was not injured.

After the crash, fire and rescue crews worked to contain a fuel leak from the truck. The intersection reopened shortly before 9 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
