Arlington Co. house fire leaves 1 dead, 1 critically injured

WASHINGTON — One person was killed and another critically injured in a house fire Sunday night in Arlington County.

Arlington County firefighters responded to a two-alarm house fire on the 2600 block of South Grant Street in the Crystal City area around 10 p.m.

One resident was pulled from the house and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second resident was also rescued from the home but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fire officials said the residents had been living in what they described as “hoarding conditions.” Officials have not determined the cause of the fire.
